Hurricane Bob (1991) was a Category 3 hurricane of the 1991 Atlantic season. It formed on August 16, 1991, 194 mi ENE of Nassau, Bahamas, reached its peak of 115 mph (185 km/h) and a minimum pressure of 950 mb on August 19, 1991, and made landfall 3 times — first 13 mi S of Charlestown, Rhode Island on August 19, 1991 as a Category 2 hurricane (104 mph). Later landfalls: near Narragansett, Rhode Island on August 19, 1991 as a Category 2 hurricane (98 mph); near Rockland, Maine on August 20, 1991 as a tropical storm (69 mph). It rapidly intensified by 35 mph in 24 hours (to 75 mph on August 17, 1991). The storm lasted 13.0 days and travelled about 4,676 miles (7,523 km).
