Hurricane Tomas (2010) was a Category 2 hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic season. It formed on October 29, 2010, 239 mi NNE of Paramaribo, Suriname, reached its peak of 98 mph (157 km/h) and a minimum pressure of 982 mb on October 30, 2010, and made landfall 3 times — first 11 mi SE of Bridgetown, Barbados on October 30, 2010 as a tropical storm (69 mph). Later landfalls: 17 mi N of Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on October 30, 2010 as a Category 2 hurricane (98 mph); 42 mi E of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands on November 6, 2010 as a tropical storm (69 mph). It rapidly intensified by 40 mph in 24 hours (to 92 mph on October 30, 2010). The storm lasted 12.5 days and travelled about 4,233 miles (6,810 km).
