It formed on October 6, 2018, 107 mi ENE of Belize City, Belize, reached its peak of 161 mph (259 km/h) and a minimum pressure of 919 mb on October 10, 2018, and made landfall 11 mi SSE of Callaway, Florida on October 10, 2018 as a Category 5 hurricane (161 mph). It rapidly intensified by 46 mph in 24 hours (to 161 mph on October 10, 2018). The storm lasted 9.0 days and travelled about 5,302 miles (8,530 km).
