Hurricane Idalia (2023) was a Category 4 hurricane of the 2023 Atlantic season. It formed on August 26, 2023, 55 mi ESE of Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico, reached its peak of 132 mph (213 km/h) and a minimum pressure of 942 mb on August 30, 2023, and made landfall 2 times — first near Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico on August 27, 2023 as a tropical depression (35 mph). Later landfalls: 15 mi S of Perry, Florida on August 30, 2023 as a Category 3 hurricane (115 mph). It rapidly intensified by 46 mph in 24 hours (to 121 mph on August 30, 2023). The storm lasted 12.8 days and travelled about 3,624 miles (5,832 km).
